Winter Pow Wow
We had a great time meeting up with family and friends as well as meeting new family and friends a the 1st Annual Winter Pow Wow, held in Somerset, Texas.
This was the first time at a Pow Wow, and the first time 'dancing' in the circle, for this newest little family member. Welcome Anagabriela (Anita) Espinoza, daughter of Cheyenne, and granddaughter of Tony Castaneda.
It was nice to see a turn out at the Pow Wow from the Pantaleon Clan. We hope more can join us on
down the trail at the next Pow Wow.
Tony Castaneda was honored to be the first man to dance with this sweet little Lipan Apache. You can be sure that his watchful eye will prevail over her as she grows into a young woman.
Joel Martinez was a joy and an honor to watch as he did his first Gourd Dance. Joel was brought into the circle of Gourd Dancing by Lenny Madina, Head Man, along with Ed Blauvelt. Welcome Joel!
Cheyenne Castaneda was present and dancing, as always, floating around the sacred circle. It was good to see her at Pow Wow with her new little daughter.
What a joy to meet cousins, Miguel Hernandez, Christina Vela, and Margie Charles, pictured below, bottom left, with Tony and Rudy. Such an honor to have them at Pow Wow with us.
Rudy was supporting the dancers and the drums while selling his Native American Crafts and Art.
We invite all Pantaleon family members, all Native American's, and all non-natives to come out to the Pow Wows.
