Carry on the Traditions ~

  • MARIUS'S FIRST POW WOW
  • Feb 14, 2016

On this day, Feb. 14, 2016, we were privileged to be there for young Marius's first Pow Wow participation.

It is an honor for the elders to welcome new dancers into the circle, and it is an honor for the young dancers to begin carrying on the traditions of those who have gone before.

This young Lipan Apache of the Pantaleon lineage, has begun his journey into the keeping of the Pow Wow traditions. The Pow Wow is the people's way of meeting together, to join in praying, dancing, singing, visiting, renewing old friendships, and making new ones. This is a time of, and a method in which to renew our Native American culture and preserve the rich heritage of our Indigenous peoples. The dances have always been a very important part of the life of the Indigenous people.

Marius is the son of Erica Soto Perez, grandson of Cecilia Soto Perez, and the great great great grandson of Pantaleon.
